  • Emu Eggs in the Kitchen

    • Emu eggs are great in the kitchen. The Emu egg is lower in cholesterol than normal eggs. It is lighter and fluffier as an omelet or scrambled. It takes less quantity when used in baking items such as bread or cake mixes.

    • Emu eggs are laid seasonally from November through April and are therefore not available year round. On can freeze the egg youlk and white for later use if need be.

  • Emu Eggs for Crafts

    • Emu Eggs are naturally avocado green in color with shades running from almost turquoise to almost black. The eggs have 3-4 layers ranging from the dark green, turquoise, light green then there are 3-4 layers of white.

    • Crafters prize the Emu egg for its versatility as a decorated item, whether it is painted, carved or made into a nightlight, purse, or other exotic piece of art.

    • Crafter Eggs are also available through Clover Creek. All our eggs are cleaned and disinfected with a natural, biodegradable liquid, non-abrasive cleaner. We try to insure the stability of packaging when shipping, however, we cannot vouch for the shippers handling.

  • Emu Feathers for Crafts & Fishermen

    • Emu Feathers are quite unique. They are double feathers - two complete feather joined at the base. They have 1 primary feather per quill and another secondary under the primary, therefore there are 2 unique feathers on 1 quill.

    • They vary in size depending on where they are on the body. Neck feathers are short, the back feathers are longer and the tail feather can be up to 15" long. The tail feathers are quite coarse while the neck feathers are much softer. The neck feather are white with a black tip, while the rest are varying shades of brown.

    • Emu Feathers will take any color dye therefore it is an excellent craft item.

    • Emu feathers are great for crafters, boas, feather pillows and quilts. They are also used as stuffing in cushions, pillows and auto seats.

    • Fly fishermen like the Emu feathers to tie flies. The long tail feathers are great for tying while the shorter ones fan out and the barbs help "float" the fly.

    • Emu feathers are also anti-static so make good feather dusters for cleaning, especially for computer screens and other electronics.

  • Emu Leather

    • Emu Leather is a supple leather in great demand by designers and consumers. It is excellent for designer apparel, hand bags and purses, boots, shoes, and other accessories. It is an exceptionally durable, beautifully detailed, supple and breathable leather. One hundred percent of the Emu hide has an attractive full-quilled pattern. The surface visually shimmers due to the raised imprints left from the feather follicle structure. Emu leather has the ability to accept and enhance and color dye.

    • The Emu skin from the legs has a dramatic reptilian texture which fashion designers find a suitable substitute for hides of certain endangered species that is used for inserts in clothing.
